“PDC have provided a top-level service, customised to the unique situation of our project. PDC worked collaboratively with LCPL, using large and complex levels of information to a produce a format that can communicate effectively with all levels of the construction team. This effort required the coordination multiple design and information sources, which were predominantly international design houses managed by others”.

BIM Consulting Management

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is the generation and management of information about a building during its entire life cycle.  BIM is facilitated by a suite of technologies and processes that integrate to form the ‘model’ (essentially a database) at the heart of which is an object based 3D representation of each building element.  The model is the single point of truth for the project.

BIM Management

PDC is an industry  leading provider of BIM Management Consultancy Services whose clients range from Project Owners, Government, Industry Organizations and General Construction Contractors.

BIM Management of all project participants input, use and development of the model is integral to ensure the model remains the single point of truth. Part of PDC’s BIM Management service is governing of process and workflow management which is a collection of defined model uses, workflows, and modelling methods used to achieve specific, repeatable, and reliable information results from the model. The way the model is created, shared and when it is used impacts the effective and efficient use of BIM for desired project outcomes and decision support.

The 3D model itself accurately reflects the facility to be built and its accompanying database. Information can include properties of the material, exact size, acoustics, fire ratings, correct usage, company/vendor information and other related data.

BIM project success hinges on quality BIM Management.

Having the right people and technology aligned to deliver, PDC can provide a BIM management service to any project. Experience tells us that no two projects use the same approach to model based Facilities Management. PDC are adaptable and understands the flexibility required in working with the client and the Facilities Manager to scope and develop an appropriate system.

Key BIM Management Services:

  • BIM Advisory including Strategic, Contractual, Implementation and Application.
  • BIM Tender Assistance
  • BIM Process Definition including guidelines for Information exchange process, information held within models, use of models, communication, team collaboration workflows and software exchange.
  • Information Management, ensure model management is set and maintained
  • BIM Business Process Transformation and Change Management
  • BIM Project kick-off documentation
  • BIM capability audit and process quality audit
  • BIM Project Management
  • Construction Operations Building Information Exchange (COBie) – scoping, understanding and awareness
  • Technology Plan Development
  • BIM for Facility and Asset Management

AIM Management

PDC has led the forefront of Asset Information Modelling (AIM) and Data Management in the resources industry. Asset Information Modelling (AIM) for Facilities Management (FM) purpose is to obtain data from design and construction of the asset accompanied with ongoing data from operations, maintenance and minor and major changes along the life-cycle of the asset. The data is a mix of geometry (drawings and 3d models), structured data (database records describing components etc) and documents (manuals, specifications etc).

PDC offer an AIM Project Management Solution involving a consultancy and review process that can be applied to brownfield, greenfield and a retrospective fit to completed projects. Review on existing processes and procedures are carried out incorporating software and business unit requirements to establish an AIM roadmap for project or companywide implantation. We have a deep understanding of the technology allowing us to remain software agnostic ensuring a best for project solution is deployed.

Shutdown Optimization

PDC has experienced capability to assist in the Shutdown Execution by allowing Maintenance Planners to “virtually” execute the shut through the 3D model prior to actual execution to mitigate work-front and resource clashes, identify work orders that are incomplete and evaluate (spares/resources/permits/support equipment availability) Work Orders components now at a granular level.

PDC’s solution provides real-time analytics of shuts, instantaneous outage planning execution readiness, productivity ratios metrics, man hours, expenditure, emerging work, which work types / trades are ahead or behind program and measure your current maintenance performance against company benchmarks.

4D Sequencing

PDC has extensive experience in providing 4D Sequencing of 3D Models to provide powerful visualisation and construction planning.  PDC has assisted many of our clients with complex sequencing and visualisation services to assist with:

  • Commercial Delay and Complexity Claims
  • Execution Methodology for tender Submission
  • Construction / Erection Planning
  • Stakeholder Engagement Presentations

Revit Modelling

PDC, utilizing Autodesk Revit, produce 4D BIM Model that have tools to assist a project from conception, through construction to full asset and facilities management.

The PDC Revit team offers modeling expertise on Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEPF and utilizes Navisworks Platforms to deliver effective BIM workflows. We also produce LOD 400-500 Revit families to clients as exact representations of their families to be used for project coordination, spatial analysis, facility management and clash detection within Navisworks with the aid of iConstruct.

PDC Key features from a Revit based model include:

BIM Services

  • Revit architecture modelling
  • Revit structure modelling
  • Revit MEPF modelling
  • Revit estimate
  • Revit scheduling
  • Navisworks clash detection
  • Navisworks timelining
  • BIM coordination
  • Room layout documentation
  • Construction drawing documentation
  • Animation
  • Revit Modeling from point cloud data
  • Facilities and asset management model upgrades

Revit Family Creation Services

High quality Revit family modelling of:

  • Architecture family components
  • Structure family components
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection components
  • Custom families such as client or vendor families
  • Custom title blocks

When applicable, PDC families contain:
