DC United Stadium, officially named the Audi Field, is a soccer-specific stadium built in Buzzard Point in Washington, D.C. The state of-the-art facility has capacity of 20,000 fans with 31 luxury suites, a bike valet, and 500,000 total sq. ft. of mixed-use retail and residential space on site. The stadium is used for a variety of sporting and cultural events, community activities and concerts.
Scope of work included the 3D BIM Modelling and detailing of 6,100 tons of structural steel work.
The Project was quoted and PDC took it on as a traditional detailing Project however was required to complete this as a Design assist Project.
PDC were required to work closely with the Design Team to aid in the completion of the connection design which added more pressure to what was already a tight schedule.
The constant Design changes and late connection design required a big effort from the team to mitigate delays.
The Project was delivered on schedule due to the PDC involvement in the development of the connection and the collaboration with the design team.
